Privacy policy
Home Grid is made by GridFleet. It runs on your family's own computer, and your family's data lives there. This page explains what Home Grid collects, where it goes, and how to remove it.
What Home Grid keeps, and where
Home Grid stores your household's information in a database on the computer you installed it on: the names and colours of the people in your home, their PINs (stored only as one-way hashes), calendars and events, chores, lists, allowance balances and settings. GridFleet does not receive a copy of this database.
Google Calendar data
Each person can choose to connect their own Google account. When they do, Home Grid asks Google for:
- Your email address, to show which Google account is connected.
- Access to your Google Calendars, so Home Grid can:
- show the events from the calendars you pick, inside your home;
- add your family events to a calendar called "Home Grid" in your Google account, so they appear on your phone;
- save changes back to Google when you edit one of your Google events in Home Grid.
The sign-in keys Google gives Home Grid are stored encrypted on your home computer. Calendar data travels directly between your home computer and Google. It is not sent to GridFleet's servers.
Home Grid's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, Google data is used only to provide the calendar features you see in Home Grid. Home Grid never sells it, never uses it for advertising, and never uses it to train AI models. People can read it only inside your home, under the sharing choices your family makes.
Vesta, the house assistant
When someone asks Vesta a question, the question and the household details needed to answer it, which can include upcoming events, are sent to an AI model provider to produce the answer. Home Grid sends them only for that purpose.
What GridFleet does receive
To activate and keep your licence current, Home Grid sends GridFleet your household key and, for each person, a display name, role (parent or kid) and licence status. Nothing else from your home is sent.
Removing your data
- Disconnect Google: in Home Grid, open Me, then Disconnect next to Google Calendar. Home Grid revokes its access with Google and deletes that person's Google keys and synced Google events from the house. The calendar named "Home Grid" stays in your Google account until you delete it there. You can also remove access at any time from your Google Account permissions.
- Remove a person or the whole home: a parent can remove anyone from Family. Uninstalling Home Grid and deleting its data folder removes everything from your computer.
- Licence records: email us and we will delete your household's licence record.
Children
Kids' profiles are created by a parent during setup. A kid can connect only their own calendar account, and can't change PINs or household settings; those are for parents.
